I noticed this mentioned on Twitter yesterday and it immediately looked useful.
The OER IPR Support web site (see links on the right hand menu) covers key aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) issues that are likely to affect OER projects. The site includes a Starter Pack (http://www.web2rights.com/OERIPRSupport/starter.html) to help projects with any IPR queries that they may have.
After a read through this morning, it looks as though the Starter Pack will come in very handy for DELILA, with a few sections standing out as particularly useful:
- An introductory video covering the key issues of attaching Creative Commons licenses to Open Educational Resources (OER) is really clear and helpful
- A briefing paper on how to embed Creative Commons licenses in to your OER material
- A template permissions form so project teams don’t have to start from scratch when contacting rights holders
The Starter Pack and the site overall is a must for anyone new to OER and for anyone involved in one of the JISC/HEA projects. I can see myself getting very familiar with several pages on there!
